We believe . . .


Children have a desire to learn. Teachers must develop the mental, physical, emotional and social attributes of each child based on sound growth and development principles. Every child is treated as an individual and respected for both their strengths and weaknesses. Children learn in many ways. By touch, sound, sight and taste, children experience and make sense of their environment. Young children must be given many experiences in order to build a firm basis for future learning. Children must learn to cooperate, work together and respect each other. They need time to explore, create, play, and allow their bodies to grow and develop.

* RECYCLING / CHARITY PROGRAMS:

 

* We are collecting plastic water bottles to teach the importance of recycling.  There are 2 bins located in the school; one in the computer lab and one by the restrooms.  Before placing bottles in the recycling bins, remove the cap and place it in the Caps for Care bin near the restrooms.

 

* The Caps for Care program recycles all screw-on plastic bottle caps to help provide funds to families of severely injured and ill children, cancer patients for chemotherapy treatments, homeless animals and may others that need a helping hand.  Pump can caps and squirt top caps from water bottles are NOT accepted.

 

* Start saving your CHANGE!!! The Beaches School is working together with the Olive Garden on the Pasta for Pennies program.  It is a national fundraiser in partnership with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to support the fight against blood-related cancers.  We will be having a contest from Oct. 10 to the 31st . The winning group will earn a free pasta party from the Olive Garden!

 

Congratulations to Mrs. Adams K-1st grade class for collecting over $150 over the 3 weeks!

 

 

* Keep collecting BOX TOPS!! The class with the most at the end of each month will earn a reward party.  Our goal this year is to collect enough Box Tops to reach our goal of $1,000 by the end of the school year.  We have made $97.00 for the months of September and October. Remember, each Box Top is worth 10cents.  If each child brings in 6 Box Tops a month, we will be able to reach our goal.  Let's work together to MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!

 

 

Congratulations to the winners of October's Box Top's Collection.  Mrs. Spears Middle School class collected 168 Box Tops! WAY TO GO!
